2nd feb-Deep Sea fishing & Rachels Bday

It's a belated shout out, but its to my sister!! Happy Birthday.
On this same day i went out from 7am to 4pm for deep sea fishing.
It wasn't as great as expected, being wrong season and all,
but me and 1 other person managed to catch some Long Tail Tuna

Long tail Tuna's weighing 18-20kg,
so by far the biggest fish I have ever caught in my short 'career' in fishing, haha.

We were strapped up with these odd looking boards to place the big rods in once a fish was hooked on a line and you could hear the reel going crazy! Was all very exciting and somewhat unnerving, but I enjoyed the moment!!!

I have never had any sort of sea sickness ever before, but wow, the 2 times i needed the toilet badly on the constantly moving boat, i had waves of nausea after coming out of the 1/2 m by 1/2m cubicle on the tiny boat. I threw up 2 times, but i wasn't really embarrassed, cause it happens to anyone and when it hits you...breathing in all that Cold, Fresh sea spray won't help at all.
The smell of alcohol, someones ciggy and sandwiches was enough to start the motion of the ocean churning in my tummy!!! What an experience none the less!!! I'd do it all over again for more and bigger fish!

Views leaving Harbour at 8am!Yawn!

My catch!

Tired and Chilling!Check out the gear strapped to my waist!

SO I fished with the Tankers!

12 hours on a boat, didn't sound too bad in all honest truth!
Only thing is I didn't catch ANYTHING, other then a battle with a LARGE
snag 20 meters below with the sea bed.
But I wasn't alone, out of 4 of us, only 1 caught 2 snappers
and his 1st fish, he didn't even know.
We hauled our lines in because the captain was moving the boat.

Did I mention this trip was organised by One degree 15 Marina???
So they hired the boat, we got our own rods, tackles, bait etc.
and we had 2 other old boys who paid for the trip.
Here was the lead up to our Boat trip of sleep deprivation!
3.30pm:
Picked live prawns up from some random old shop in West coast Drive,
stuck the bait in to a cooler box with a bubble blower for oxygen!

6.00pm:
Packed our stuff back home, dumped it in the car and drove to Vivo.

6.30pm:
Bought 4 boxes of SPizza and bags of ice.

7.00pm:
Parked at One degree 15 loaded and got on the boat, not forgetting waiting for the 2 old boys who were half an hour late!

8pm-8am:
Fished, snagged, fished, told we were going 4 different locations but in reality
we swear the guy drove us in circles back to the same place.

As for Southern Waters, what it really means is, 1-2 kilometers away from
the Singapore Flyer (which was in sight) and in amongst the giant tankers.
Couple of hopeful snags later, I went to sleep at 5am and woke at 6.30ish plus
when i was somewhat freezing. I climbed down to the first level and found no one
else had caught anything else.

Well it was a good talk with a gazillion cans of beer, coke sprite and redbull
and even some stingray and jellyfish sightings
that in actual fact turned out to be a BIg white Plastic bag and cup!
HAHAHahahaAHHAahHAAH.

So a few words, DON'T FISH in the SOUTHERN WATERS EVER.
SERIOUSLY.
1. More tankers then Fish
2.Cheaper to go to Malaysia for 2 days
Ofcourse unless you like being sleep deprived and can talk for 12 hours straight.

Well next trip MALAYSIA here we come next month or so.
For 4 people on a 2 day (all day fishing)/ 1 night its something like
900 Ringgit a boat, 180 Ringgit (per person) a night stay in a chalet.
Equipment bring it yourself, bait i'm sure they'd provide.

Anyone else go fishing? ANy recommendations?

Mothers Day vs F1

Yes its Sunday and Mother's Day and ordering flowers is such a difficulty because
EVERYone is doing it and everywhere is charging exuberant prices
because they've tripled the prices.
No I'm not a Cheapo but why not get double the amount of flowers a day after Mother's Day. It's the Thought that counts!!!!

~FORMULA ONE~
Making Bangers and Mash for dins and in 5-10 minutes the Formula One in Turkey starts.
Some random trivia: The Turkey trick is 1 of 3 tracks that is driven anti-clockwise, the other 2 being Sao Paulo and YES SINGAPORE' track!!!!

And for drivers as they are usually driving round right corners, they develop a stronger right side of the neck , so for anti-clockwise tracks they will be turning alot to the left , where their necks aren't as strong and it will be more challenging because of the G-Force!

Pole positions for Qualifying was:
1.Felipe Massa
2.Heikki Kovalainen
3.Lewis Hamilton
4.Kimi Räikkönen
5.Robert Kubica
6.Mark Webber
7.Fernando Alonso

So far, Fisichella in the 1st Lap, ran in to Nakajima at the start and both are out of the race with carbon fibre bits all over th track...44 Laps out of 58 have been raced, so it's getting really Exciting with Massa and Hamilton battling it out in top 2 spots bettering each other nonstop with their best laps....Okay well another blogging later on the winners and hopefully some more drama!!!

~EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES~
In the mean time, went out to go look at fishing rods and tackles, weights etc, as next week a group of 10 of us are going deep sea fishing just outside of Singapore organised by the Marina One degree 15. I Haven't been before so i'm pretty excited about the overnight fishing.
In Singapore you always need to find new things to do , provided you can pull together a bit more funding.

But honestly, if people who earn an average amount a month spend hundreds on alcohol over the weekend, then they can definitely over-afford to go and rent a boat and buy the necessary!

If any of you have any other suggestions what other interesting things you can do in Singapore, PLEASE let me know!!! I'm running out of ideas each week!!!
