Remember to Smile

I still can't believe he's gone.
I stayed up till 4am to watch the entire ceremony at staples center.
I think the most heartfelt and captivating performance was by Stevie Wonder when he sang,
"Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer."
Real grief was seen and felt when he said it was a moment he wished that he didn't live to see come.

Other Powerful words by Rev Al Sharpton which resonated through out the performance hall:
"There was nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with, but he dealt with it." (skip to 5:20)

I think he spoke for all of us for what we couldn't put into words!

Rest in Peace.
Remember to Smile.

Smile
tho'your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,
If you Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

At the Zoo - Simon & Garfunkel

Someone told me
Its all happening at the zoo.

I do believe it,
I do believe its true.

Its a light and tumble journey
From the east side to the park;
Just a fine and fancy ramble
To the zoo.

But you can take the crosstown bus
If its raining or its cold,
And the animals will love it
If you do.

Somethin tells me
Its all happening at the zoo.

The monkeys stand for honesty,
Giraffes are insincere,
And the elephants are kindly but
Theyre dumb.
Orangutans are skeptical
Of changes in their cages,
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum.

Zebras are reactionaries,
Antelopes are missionaries,
Pigeons plot in secrecy,
And hamsters turn on frequently.
What a gas! you gotta come and see
At the zoo.

I Do Believe it's True, Only at the Zoo!

Yesterday was a well spent Saturday, gallivanting off to the Zoological Gardens on Mandai Road!
i spent a good 3 hours there and I can't wait to head back again! I haven't been there since i was like 12 when I first came to S'pore. The only thing I remember was some theatre and it had baby animals preserved in glass jars-charming!

It was s flip between the Butterfly Park on Sentosa and the Zoo. Of course only one song came to mind and it was from an old audio tape my parents used to play- Simon and Garfunkel way back in the 80's, but the song is from 1967 or 1968 called "At the Zoo."

Here's a couple of pictures from that day, in which I only snapped some from my BB. I'll post up the lyrics and song in the next post! the lyrics are so catchy, I only wish more people grew up listening to them!

The BEST Cheap Jeans in Town

I found my new favourite off the shelf inexpensive jeans.
I've never been able to wear random branded jeans that cost less than $50 bucks.
I've seen some amazing looking ones like at Queensway, Chinatown etc.
Problem is I don't exactly have the Asian body in total, I've got a proper ass,
so even if i can fit into the local asian jean sizes, it's usually tight in the derriere!

That has forced me to wear better cut jeans with shape, such as Miss Sixty, Miss Me etc..
which are roughly S$300-S$500.

One day though, 3 years ago, I saw a dancer friend wear a pair of amazing jeans with a big Yellow button.I tried it on once and bought it in about 3.47 seconds.
Where???
PULL & BEAR

I wish I had bought 2 of them at the time, becuase I never did find another comfortable well cut pair of jeans again, until I went back into their stores 2 weeks back and bought my first white pair of jeans for $70 and even better still 3 days ago,
in their sales, $39.90 caught my attention!!!
YES the sale is still on!!!!

I just went straight to the rack , picked out a light blue faded denim pair, size 26 and bought them on the spot. No need for fuss and fiddling around,
waiting 15 minutes to get into the waiting room.

I knew straight away that the cut was so good,
(hailing frm Spain and trust me , some Europeans do have some ass on them)
that I didn't hesitate. I had to share it because for you other ladies with a little bit of curve to your body, and you can't fit into the straight cut boy fitting, mid range Levi's , don't BOTHER!!!
PULL AND BEAR!!!!!!
TRUST ME!

I would have bought more under the SICKO19 jeans range,
but it was a sale and the size 26's were lacking in numbers:(

So if you need a quick fix for your wardrobe to match something
and you need cheap jeansand $70(the non-sale price) is within your range, go GET em!!!!!!!

P.S. the pockets and cut makes your ass look proportionate and smaller!!!!
How I don't know but a bloody god send!

Day 5: Love affair in Ho chi Minh

Breakfast at 6.30am-favouritist thing in the world- buffet beakfasts! YUM!
8.30 am , at the airport and checking in to the chaotic whirlpool of people, pushing, shoving
and cutting queues which seemed the norm of life there!

We get on the plane and fly to Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon
where we have 4 hours to weave in and out of
the rubber chords of the linked up city!
Choy had friends from the city so we had a nice river side lunch at a restaurant called The Deck!
After spending an hour to get there, and 45 minutes or so over lunch we decided to leave to grab our luggage at her friends place and we made our way back to the airport, where i got hit by a taxi by the way trying to squeeze by i kicked his van!!!

Triple indicator!

Lost amongst work!

By the river with pineapple juice & plus sized fries!

Finally we were on our way home after our whirlwind travels to and fro from beautiful Vietnam!
I absolutely can't wait to go back again and go soo some war time memorials, tunnels etc! I'd definitely recommend Vietnam's quieter resorts liek Hoi An for perfect beaches and blissfully unpopulated seas...

Vietnam Day 4: Tick tock tick Tock

After having dinner at 8pm, we got word that we were to rise and shine
for hair and makeup at 3.30am! YoUZaH!!!
We needed to get as much sunlight as possible for the whole day filming
as we were to fly of the next day early in the morning!
As sun rose at 5.30am, we had to be ready so we could film till 5.30pm!
It was a long, hot day, but we made it through, thought at times it actually felt
like 5 pm when it was only 9am because we had been up all morning!!!

Breakfast we sat by the beach and sun-rise was absolutely mesmerising,
while munching down on our prepacked hotel breakfast!

On set 5.30am!

Private unused beach belonging to unopened resort!!!

Feet friends!

Jumps for Joy!

Pierre!

With Casey our makeup artist!

sundown at 5pm!!!!

The long day finally drew to a close for filming and i was feeling pretty lazy to head out for dinner but i managed to drag my ass out to the Lantern Festival in Hoi An Town and it was
bustling with life! We were so hungry we let the crew go ahead to walk around and we ate for about an hour and a half, at some road side stall, lit by a handful of lamps, making the surroundings and our dinner all the more sumptuous( as did it smell and taste heavenly)
by darkness and all the better we couldn't see what we were eating
and even more so what we were eating in..Yikes...
By almost 10pm we were totally floored by tiredness and took a quick squinty at the festival and made our way back to the hotel to pack our luggage...
i can't wait to makeit back to Vietnam in the near future hopefully!

Busy streets!

Prayers!

Full Moon!

Hansen choosing our dinner!

Tasty Beer!
