Beerfest Asia 2009

It's been awhile since I've actually been or done anything with people and socialised-ha ha- buit n this case a friend Paul Foster had some extra tickets up for grabs and it seems me and G along with 4 tables will be rocking Beerfest Asia out down by the Singapore Flyer!

We got the hospitality tickets which includes*drum roll*
- a Singapore Flyer ride,
-beer runner service,
- a $20 food & beer voucher and
-a reserved seat within the main marquee.
But according to P.F. it's more or less freeflow for us, mustbe some kind of awesome package he got. Well we won't actually know everyone there bar 1/2 others, but hey food and beer unites everyone!!!

Hair Product review

I tested out one shampoo and one hair conditioning treatment this week.

The shampoo was the very affordable Asience Shine Therapy Conditioner.
It smelled of lychee and wasn't drying to the hair, especially for my hair since it has been chemically treated and rebonded. Although I have very fine hair and it isn't totally suited for my type of hair but more for the Asian hair, I'd still highly recommend it! For long hair you will finish the bottle in about 2 weeks!

The second product was the FEKKAI Colour Care 3-minute Mask. I totally thought it was a Japanese brand but alas i was wrong! It's FRENCH and here's a short write up,

This product was amazing and did wonders for my hair!!!I've fallen in love and i'm guessing that it will come with a hefty price tagfor sch glorious locks!! It smelled fruity and citrus-y and after applying only for 3minutes, when i dryed myhair out after use, it was sooo soft and non-fizzy.
A definite thumbs up if you are looking for a DEFINITE hair smoothing product. I've been using it for 2 weeks now, and i still haven't finished it. YOu only need ot use it in small quantities!

Old school Maserati

I was in mediacorp car park and while on my phone, i catch from the corner of my eye the Maserati sign on a car, but i do a double take because this was old school.....and as someone told mewas an old Quattroporte....
I think judging from the pictures its the Quattroporte III , either 70's or 70-early 90's.I had the front end but it's gone! so here's the rear end!

Getting on Track

Now that filming is done, I have other auditions lined up etc Sunday I just finished filming for a website character for a Hair Product, which was shot entirely on green screen and shall be quite interesting once it's out-once it's out the i'll tell you the website it's for but until then..... like the drama-Hush hush:)

Gah they are piling next door and the WHOLE house is shaking!

Well as mentioned i'm on track again for working out. The last 2 months I really had no time and when I did, I spent it on the couch, sleeping, trying out products for Cleo or with my mum! Which I think is quite justifying!

Last week I told my self once filming is done, I will go all out to exercise before I leave for overseas! I really wanna go away knowing I am fit and feeling great in case I don't have the chance to work out there! I've started out easy with 2 work outs last week which includes:

1)2 rounds of Emerald Hill on to main road and back round again -15minutes (warm-up)
2)1 set of 12 crunch sit-ups, 1 set of 12 side sit-ups
3)1 set of 16 lunges
4)1 set of 8 push-ups
5)1 set of 12 side leg lifts (holding on to a chair), 1 set of 12 back leg lifts

Today i upped the work out slightly...with all of above except now the
a) crunches and side sit-ups are 15 repetitions
b)after a minute break and sip of water I ran from the back of emerald hill road for about 80m fast, touched the kerb and ran back up as fast as possible

Then by the pool i did :
-8 more push ups
- 12 leg raises, each leg on all 4's
-12 more crunches, 12 more side crunches
In the pool:
-1 set each of 12 side leg raises and 12 back leg raises
-swam 10minutes against the current!!!

Now i'm Hungry!!!! ans a bit more tanner once again!Yike's need to slap on the UV cream!!!
Actually quite pooped now, but i love the feeling of exhaustion- it definitely makes you sleep better!!!! Okay NEXT post on Products tested!!!

Product Review: Sephora Nail Patches

In my spare time at home, I'm busy reviewing 600 products or so, for the CLEO best product awards. Today I submitted my 3rd batch of deadlines and one of the interesting products was the
SEPHORA NAIL PATCHES!


As it says on the Sephora webpage:

What it does:
Sephora Brand Nail Patches make it easy to be glamorous. The colorful strips add shine and brilliance to nails, with zero drying time or smudging—so you can stop using brush applicators and worrying about polish that runs or spreads unevenly and takes a long time to dry.

What else you need to know:
Just stick on the patches and go—it's that easy. Select the appropriate size for your nail, pull off the clear protective strip, and place the rounded side at the nail base. Smooth onto the nail surface, and remove the surplus by folding the nail sticker under the nail. The excess easily tears away. Remove the nail patch with traditional nail polish remover.

My Review: It definitely is quite easy to paste on the pre painted slabs of colour. Only thing is if your nail isn't smooth, you can see every line and nook on your nail, which is usually filled out by painting it.IT chips quite easily if you aren't careful, but it certainly gives you clean lines that you dont have to worry about when you paint your nails by yourself! I thought it definitely was a clever product! 4/5 but only cuz the strips are quite thin and the chipping happens if you're careless!

Randoms

FILMING UPDATES
Today has been my first off day in about 3 weeks from from filming.
After about 2 months, we are about to wrap the new ch5 mini drama.
I've got a few other projects lined up , after a few auditions i went to and i can see it feeling somewhat weird not waking up at 5.30am to hit Mediacorp by 7am,
with a big red gym bag on my right arm full of items needed throughout a 12-15 hour shoot day and on my left arm a big clothes bag protector
for all my clothes for different episodes and scenes.

I've made some great if not better friends on set, some I already knew,
some I got to know.I think no matter how tired some of us got,
we always looked forward for the great company on the different locations,
not forgetting all the banter and antics!!!
I'm actually quite sad it is about to wrap, but at least we all know we gained a lot more out of
just being in a TV drama!

Besides that, I've managed to sneak in some time with my mum to hit China Town
for the weekly foot reflexology. I thought I'd share some photos of what I always pass by,
giving C-Town its flavour!




I haven't time to do anything but be home, and friends who don't need to be invited, chose to pop by when they are in town, so chilling and drinks at home, games on the Wii on the wall, running a muck at home with lots of Subway sandwiches.

Thanks to the homeboys M and G for dropping by the sets and chilling the hot hours with me,
bringing me food and drinks!!! I Love you guys!

PASSION CHARITY BALL@ CAPELLA HOTEL
Hmmm 2 weeks back, i attended the Passion Ball with M,Vi, G and his parents, that we all had looked forward to and I wore for the 2nd time the beautiful dress by Marissa,
that i wore in South Africa.
The ball it's self held in the Capella Hotel, was for a charity event, but it wasn't as a total Amazing. What made it slightly more interesting, were the other 40-year old Loopy Aussie women sitting at our table, whom got absolutely hammered by 11pm and were on the dance floor, doing some kind of River Dance/ Footloose/ HandBanging dance, grabbing random men to be savaged on the podium.

It was hilarious watching them fall off their seats, crawl out from UNDER the table and grab the bowl of roses back home! Unfortunately me and G, had some mysterious chest and tummy pains, so we all promptly left while the others all headed to Attica for some after party! I had work anyway the next day, so it was just as well!


Okay enough for this posting!!!!

Just 2 weeks more..

My schedule has been crazy hectic and I have completely no rest days for the next 2 weeks,

filming sat's and sun's like this weekend! I've been at Evans's road swimming pool but now we are moving back to the usual locations. The weather has been slightly crazy and the sudden tropical stroms and insane lightening doesn't help in back logging of scenes!!
We are on a tight shift to get things complete and i feel more for the boys in this-
unfortunately I can't say more , till July!!!

One the side I've been rushing last minute to dinners and events that we have been invited to,
but besides those 1/2 moments, I've been out the house 6.30am-7pm daily and I've mostly no energy to go out and when i do, I usually hang around for an hour max!
thank god I have books and my trusty laptop and wifi -sometimes!

In the evenings I'm still testing out all those products for Cleo's product awards
and the only thing I find calming and therapeutic is chilling on the computer and surfing while lying the couch like NOW and watching Semi-Pro at the same time.

this Weeks Event's and dinners

We went to last minute 2 Car showcases last week- one for Maserati at their showroom next to zouk for the new Quattroporte- which was sightly dull but then what can you expect with a 4 door!

The other new Car show case was the RR4 - Rolls Royce. 200EX... which was a lot nicer but smaller than the usual, though Gorgeous in the Dark Blue sparkles and Cream/White interior.








But even better guess who we saw there?Look below!!!
it was NIGO! the dude who owns BAPE clothing line form Japan-
random as hell seeing him there! Of course G was the one who spotted him! ahahha.
gotta love my paparazzi skills!

Anyway after viewing the car with the boys, me, M and G went to impromptly eat at the Knolls restaurant in Capella which where the showcase was . Food was great, but they were obviously still combing thru' the problems and the waiters were sonervous n a Cute way la!
Check out the Capella if you can, its a beautiful hotel, but slightyly vast and alot of unused space!

oh sweet silence

Though its great being busy and filming Everyday, (including Saturday's and Sundays-not so much fun), it feels nice when you are alone and quiet and can sit,
click away at the computer.
I find it therapeutic, though it may not be to others!

Besides from the filming i'm concurrently being a Product Judge for Cleo Magazine.
I have to test products belonging to 62 Categories.
SO can you imagine what a job I have if each category has a minimum of 5 products
to a maximum of 12!!! By average that's something like almost 500 products-
in fact likely more I assure you. So in my free time I'm testing and writing about them in short.
But I guess the pay off is I get to keep every single one, which is actually quite insane!
I just realised how amazing it must be , being the editor of a magazine,
receiving all the materials and products! WOW!

Summer Cruising
Besides, that I been hanging with my hood rat boys and planning out our Summer trip to London, Scotland, Monaco and St.Tropez. Somewhere along those lines I really wanna see my sister, hopefully she can come meet us in aberdeen. she can fly to Edinburgh and take a train up to Aberdeen and we'll pick her up and then she'll come down in the car with us to London- HINT HINT, hee hee.
