I Do Believe it's True, Only at the Zoo!

Yesterday was a well spent Saturday, gallivanting off to the Zoological Gardens on Mandai Road!
i spent a good 3 hours there and I can't wait to head back again! I haven't been there since i was like 12 when I first came to S'pore. The only thing I remember was some theatre and it had baby animals preserved in glass jars-charming!

It was s flip between the Butterfly Park on Sentosa and the Zoo. Of course only one song came to mind and it was from an old audio tape my parents used to play- Simon and Garfunkel way back in the 80's, but the song is from 1967 or 1968 called "At the Zoo."

Here's a couple of pictures from that day, in which I only snapped some from my BB. I'll post up the lyrics and song in the next post! the lyrics are so catchy, I only wish more people grew up listening to them!

Singapore Night Safari Drug Trafficking

SINGAPORE (AFP) "Singapore's zoo cancelled performances after police said Wednesday they had arrested ten Malaysian workers and three Singaporeans on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking.

Three Malaysians were intercepted in their taxi at a border crossing between the two countries on Sunday carrying a variety of drugs including cannabis, ketamine and "ice", a concentrated form of methamphetamine, officers said.

One Malaysian and one Singaporean have been charged with drug importation and trafficking and face a minimum sentence of five years' jail and five strokes of the cane if convicted, she said.

Some of the suspects were part of a performance troupe that entertained visitors to the zoo's Night Safari section with mock tribal dances and fire-breathing stunts.

Drug trafficking is punishable by hanging in Singapore if the amounts carried by a suspect exceed certain limits specified by law."

Wow-Love how they remind you of the Severe penalties.

Not surprised he fire-breathers were the ones who got caught.

Just my own judgement. It could have been anyone!

Who would have thought though from the clean and green Zoo Gang!

Bird Park Loving

Besides the fact I have lived here 14 years, I can't remember ever once having visited the Bird Park. I think this trip was very much inspired by a trip taken by one my best friends the other day and it has been sitting at the back of my mind to go visit.

Lo and behold, Sunday afternoon after waking up, I got dressed and we headed off directly to Jurong, where I pranced and squealed like a little girl at certain birds, and not forgetting I polished off a Bongo Burger..yum yum!!!
Enjoy some of my favourites!!!
